Ten Ways to Stay Cool this Summer

June 20, 2012 by Chappell Central

Today we celebrate the first day of Summer! For many of us in West Central Minnesota, we have been in summer mode for a while already – –  enjoying the warm temperatures since May!  So now that summer is official,  how are you staying cool? Here are ten ideas to cool you down on the hot and humid days:

1.)  Go for a dip in your local pool like the one at Kandiyohi County’s YMCA.

2.)   Be a hermit for a while and escape to the cool temperatures of your home’s basement.Minnesota Lakes

3.)  Take the kids to the playful water park such as the Dorothy Olson Aquatic Center.

4.)  Visit your local library and find a good read while chillin’ in the A/C.

5.)  Go for a dip in one of the Willmar Lakes Area’s many beautiful swimming lakes.

6.)  Play outside with the kids with squirt guns, water balloons, sprinklers, or hoses!

7.)  Partake in popcorn and a show in an air conditioned movie theatre.

8.)  Take a stroll thru an air conditioned shopping mall such as Willmar’s Kandi Mall.

9.)  Know how to efficiently run your home’s air conditioner and stay cool inside (Click here to enter the Be Cool, Be Cozy Sweepstakes!).

10.) Grab a cold drink or an ice cream treat, and enjoy the warmth on the patio.

How are you staying cool this summer? Whether you are enjoying the comfort of air conditioning or keeping cool while playing in the water, enjoy your summer!
