Chappell Central has added a new Weber deburring sanding machine to their manufacturing division. The deburring machine performs edge conditioning on the parts, creating a better finished product. Prior to having this machine, the deburring process was done by hand, one part at a time, by five people at Chappell Central. Now with the deburring machine added to our fleet of fabrication capabilities, the process is much more efficient. Just one person can automatically do the deburring of a part up to 40 inches wide and 12 feet long.
Benefits of Chappell Central’s Deburring Equipment
- Edge conditioning for cleaner finished product
- Polishing and graining of flat stainless steel parts
- Removing sharp edges makes it safer for your employees to handle parts
- More efficient deburring process when made automated with a machine
Matt Kelly, Plant Manager at Chappell Central, said that making parts safer for staff to handle is important to many Minnesota manufacturers, “Novatech Engineering processes their parts with us, and deburring is a part of their safety process so sharp edges are removed.” With the deburring machine, it not only automates processes and improves efficiencies, but leaves for a better looking product, with a smoother, safer edge.
